After going through a series of poor toasters I found this highly rated toaster in a recent Consumer Reports magazine. CR has never let me down! CR claimed it toasted evenly which was an important factor in choosing this toaster. It comes with a “count down” screen to let you know when the toast is ready to “pop up”. I could do without this feature but the boyfriend likes it and he’s the one eating all the toast! I immediately ordered it and thanks to 2 day prime shipping it was here in…dah… two days…really love that! The cost was steep compared to other toasters but we are very happy with the performance and the looks. In my opinion it was worth the investment.

Bought the CPT-170 to replace a CPT-120 due to the latter’s inability to toast evenly, largely based on the CR evaluation of the 170. Unit does toast better than its cheaper version, although the stainless steel enclosure is harder to keep looking OK, but we keep it in a cabinet and not on display.
Timer feature is a nice addition, allows you to know when the toasting will end, making kitchen multi-tasking easier.

Consumer Reports rated this toaster very highly which is why we bought it. It did not disappoint us. It’s consistent, each slice is exactly the same. This isn’t always true of every toaster. It has a nice blue countdown light which acts as a nightlight when you stagger into the kitchen for a drink of water at 2:00 AM.

A very attractive and inconspicuous addition to our kitchen counter. Blends well into the background, as we do not like kitchen klutter! Cooks toast and bagels to choice of darkness and does it well. No guesswork. Easy to use with countdown timer and wide slots for bagels. A good addition to our home. Recommend it for gift and giver!!! Enjoy.

Has nice wide slots for bagel toasting. Also the variable browning dial setting is handy to please the taste of various members of the family. Countdown feature is also handy.
