OMG Don’t do it. Save yourself the time, energy and hair pulling. I purchased this computer instead of the HP. I wanted a change from the Canon, that I dearly loved; the canon was faithful and just finally expired after a few years of constant heavy use. This time I wanted the next printer to be wireless, with fax, scanning and copying capabilities and compatible with MY HP Touch screen desk top. I was deeply considering the HP and after some research decided to go HP. However, when I got to the store I let the salesman talk me into the Lexmark 905. I had been given a Lexmark years ago as a gift and hadn’t experience any problems; although I didn’t use it very long. Big Mistake, OMG. This beast wouldn’t print, the duplex kept chewing up the paper. Often time the message center would say “remove deplex and clear paper jam” and there wouldn’t be any jammed paper or papers after I went through the hassel of trying to clear the make believe paper jam. Slow is not an adequate description for this sloth. I could go downstairs get a drink of OJ,come back up and, if it was printing, it would still only be on the first page of a two sided page print job. You can not print two sided copies on specialty paper, only plain paper. I do obituaries, wedding programs, church bulletins, documents, photos, etc. I need the ability to print on a variety of paper types and weights. Even when plain paper was inserted, the message center kept reading, “paper type not supported”. I called the tech support several times, three and four times in a day, from Thursday to Saturday. Some of them hung up on me, but I did find three good ones. The last one finally apologized and said “We will take it back, without penalty, I apologize.” Lexmark tech support is difficult to work with, they are in the Philippines, but occasionally you will get a good one, that is truly dedicated to customer satisfaction. That is the reason I am not rating this printer a 1 or 0, I am giving a 2 rating because of the good technician that finally helped me to unload this animal and get my beloved multifunction HP

Nothing worked right on this printer. I wish I had saved the box, it would have been easier to return it. The document feeder worked when it felt like it (not very often), could not get it to work wirelessly. I have an HP wireless that was easy to set up but this could not be done… even the IT guy couldn’t do it. It was Soooo slow. Also, whenever it prints it has a box on the bottom of your screen showing that it’s printing, I guess it is so proud of itself for being able to do something. You cannot minimize the box so you have to work with it there – very annoying. Prints color when you specifically set it for black and white. Piece of junk!!!

This printer should not have been put on the market yet. It has major problems with both its software and hardware. Although it sounds great to have inexpensive ink, the printer has design flaws and it is difficult to use. Hopefully Lexmark will soon come up with a new model which works better.

I wish I could return this printer.
Every single day I have to pull the power cord out and restart the printer so my network can print off of it.
Scanning anything from it to my computer is also a hassle.
I don’t like the touch screen in terms of navigating through all the options.
It is also defaulted to fax in color. Every time I fax I have to press black/white.
Phone book is cumbersome.
I should have stuck with my old brand of printers. I thought this was going to be better. Not even close. Ready to toss it out the window.

I was excited about getting this snazzy looking all-in one with the really cheap ($4.99) printer cartridges. But day 2, I’m ready to return it.
Pros: Looks good, has an easy to use touch screen and makes 2 sided copies. Faxes are fast, and scanning is pretty fast.
Cons: Slow printing! Really slow! And the quality was poor. I have it on an antique heavy table with my laptop and it’s shaking the whole table side to side.
Wireless doesn’t work on it.
Back it goes.
