I got confused with all of the different adapters and somehow read the literature to say this adapter would work with my Macbook 13 (the white one). I am sorry to say that it does not. my macbook takes a different video adapter. I am going to keep it though as it is supposed to work with the newer macbook pro’s which I may get sometime in the future.

so Apple designs a proprietary port instead of HDMI and yet it still doesn’t do audio. why didn’t they just use hdmi????? i know this is more a comment about Apple than the product but it seems by the other reviews there’s a high percentage of Apple users interested in this adapter. if you already have a dvi to hdmi cable and mdp to dvi don’t bother buying this product as you will still need to use your mini stereo jack to get sound to your tv. here’s hoping apple figures a way to make mdp more than just a crippled hdmi port!

I use it to connect my apple laptop to the TV. TV becomes computer monitor instantly. plug & play. Only down size is it’s only for the pictures. if want to watch something with sound you have to connect the speakers also….

This will get your Mac’s miniDisplay Port video out to an HDMI monitor or HDTV. Unlike some others, IT DOES NOT CARRY AUDIO.
