This Item was advertised incorrectly and I bought the wrong cable.. I tried contacting the seller and got no reply .. Don’t say its for mac and than in small type specify which one … I feel cheated plus the item feels cheap .. What a Scam.. this cord is for mac but outta date and for the very old models of a Macintosh cpu.. Make sure this product fits you cpu!

It doesn’t fit into any MacBook or MacBook Pro. Talk about false labeling.. I would return it. But it’s not even worth the time or money.

I have been searching for a cable like this for months. Locally, there are no stores big or small with this adapter cable, and every person who has tried to help me at these stores tries to link a bunch of adapters together producing an overall expensive, bulky, makeshift alternative. When I searched throughout Amazon.com I came across a few promising Mini-DVI to HDMI adapters, and this one was the most reasonably priced and had a decent review. After waiting a few weeks for this product to ship, it finally got to my house. Eager to hook up my MacBook to my large plasma TV in my family room, I ripped the package open only to find that the adapter had a small hairline crack in the Mini-DVI adapter. I was already mad about the cable taking so long to get to my house, and now I was upset about it being a possibly broken cable. I used a rubber band to hold the Mini-DVI side from falling apart, and began trying this adapter on my TV. It didn’t work at all. I tried every HDMI port on the TV with every possible setting, including rebooting the computer numerous times with the cables hook up properly. When this didn’t work, I assumed it was possibly just the TV, but I proceeded to try this out on my bedroom LCD TV with no luck and my guest room LCD TV with no luck. This was a very cheaply made adapter cable from a company that took forever to process my order and ship it. It was already falling apart upon arrival at my front door. Overall, I’d have to say that this was a horrible purchase, and I would never recommend buying this product. Save your money and look for other alternatives.

For all who want to buy this product please be fore warned that it does not transmit sound to the TV speakers which there is yet another cable for that application. I would reccomend that the cable’s title should read “Mini-DVI to HDMI (female) adapter cable for Apple Mac – No audio”. This would prevent returns in the future when someone finds this out too late…ahem..

The day after i ordered this i realized that i had ordered the wrong product and should have instead ordered mini-displayport instead of mini-DVI and that was my fault not the sellers because it clearly says mini-DVI not mini-displayport, i just didnt take care enough to realize that i have a newer macbook pro and was ordering the wrong thing, so make sure you read what your getting because they also sell the mini-displayport to HDMI also. That being said shipping was fantastic, i ordered acouple of things at the same time and they are still a good couple of days away, i received it before the first estimated shipping date so i cant complain.
