After 3 good working Philips DVDs I decided to buy Pioneer. Pioneer was Hi-Fi leader in 80s and 90s. After 6 weeks of light use, GREEN line on the right edge of my TV showed up and is still there. It is connected on HDMI output. Very annoying when you watch. Unit looks and feels very cheap. Very `plastic’ feeling.
PAL disks are working but sometimes not when I have menu with multiple shows. Unit can not pick particular show from menu.
I connected portable 40gb WD Hard Drive. HD get power from unit but unit do not read any information. Philips dvd does.
MP3 playback is poor. No ID3 track or song art. Just file name.
Buy PHILIPS! At least you wil save some money. And do not trust to incompetent reviews as I did.

The feature description says this product supports 110 & 240 voltages, but it is not. And this is not a multi region product. Don’t buy this if you these are your primary requirements.

Good player with Annoying flaw
It play code 3 Pal disc very well. Video output very good.
The most Annoying is the blue bar (play) remain on screen when playing the movie. You have to press Pause or Fast Forward then press play again to make this Annoying blue bar disappear. I deduct 2 stars because of this Annoying flaw.
You can goto setup and turn off the Display function and this Annoying blue bar won’t appear on screen but then you can not view sub-title and audio track selection on screen.
The USB port will play divx, wmv files but not the MKV or Mpeg 4. It will read my jump drive but not the WD and segate esternal hard drive.

This player has very nice video quality (via HDMI) on all the videos I threw at it. Handles PAL DVDs/Divx/Xvid videos and subtitles in other languages excellently. At the same time one of my main uses for it is playing music CDs. For this purpose it’s too slow. 5 sec to open the tray from the OFF state and about 16-18 sec from tray close to playing. My old cheap DVD player did this in 2 and 12 second respectively. It’s not a huge deal but does feel much slower than it should be. Also it turned out a bit fussy about which CDs it plays. I’ve got a couple CDs which were in great shape and playable by other players but not by this one. So I’m sending it back to Amazon.

Love this DVD player. Worked great right out of the box. Just plug and play.
Has played everything I have put in it.
I purchased it from All Region World. The price was a little less than other sources, and although they offered free shipping, I went ahead and paid $9.12 for faster shipping. I live in Hawaii and that saved me almost $50!
