This was great when I bought it back in November on Amazon. Went buy a new one in May, only to find the price went up $7, AND I have to pay almost $8 in shipping for ground, despite the fact that I have Amazon Prime. I’ll be going to the local store and getting it for the same price as I would have paid after shipping and will have it the same day. This kind of outsourcing is going to kill Amazon. One star for buying it, the cartridge itself is fine.

Alright, shame on me. But the ad itself is more than a little deceiving and I blame Amazon for this. How can you have “New” “Used” and “Refurbished” toner refill supplies? I mean come on. I took the cheapest alternative to replacing the HP toner cartridge that costs almost as much as the printer. I really expected to get a new cartridge. And shame on the company for sending me a “generic” refill without even the courtesy of accurate refill instructions. When I finally did make it to their URL, my toner cartridge wasn’t even listed as it was in the Amazon ad. This sucks. Yes, I am going to go buy a soldering iron, and attempt to bore a hole in the side of the cartridge and refill it. I am hoping for success but this is a very very very deceptive posting. Beware and take care. Yes, I am taking it on the chin for not reading the fine print, but I have always expected more from Amazon. You are forcing me to do a rethink about doing business with you.

After seeing the praise for getting official HP cartidges, I ordered 2. They came quickly, but were over priced generics. Not the HP I was offered on this page.

And Anmazon won’t correct the error.

I got the printer on Amazon for $49 and free shipping. The cartridge is more expensive than the printer!

I do love the printer and the cartridge is easy to use and easy to install. I love HP printers….but hate their scanners.

I wish HP would lower the cost of their laser cartridges. It is too expensive for even those of us with a little extra money. I might try the refilled cartridges to see if the quality and duration are on par with the HP ones.

I’ve found that you need to be real careful of getting refilled or recycled toner cartridges. They have not worked well over the years in my company’s printers. I guess the best way to make sure you’re getting your money’s worth is to make sure it’s a genuine cartridge. The key these days is that the hologram on the package alternates in color when it is moved back and forth lengthwise. Hard to tell at an online shop, though
