$27 + tax at Walmart. Great reception indoors in upstairs bedroom with a line-of-sight to the TV towers on South Mountain in Phoenix. Tried tuning channels downstairs but couldn’t find channel 8 (local PBS). Moved upstairs, sited the TV, with the antenna hanging from the ceiling. did the auto tune on the TV again (btw Samsung LN26B360 26-Inch 720p LCD HDTV), and found channel 8 – all 4 of them (8.1 thru 8.4).Great reception, recommended, 5 stars.

I purchased this antenna and tried it under multiple configurations

    Indoors:

    1) Next to the TV

    a)rotated north/south

    b)rotated east/west

    2) Next to window

    a)rotated north/south

    b)rotated east/west

    3) Highest point in room, next to window

    a)rotated north/south

    b)rotated east/west

Outdoors: (at least 10 feet up)

    a)rotated north/south

    b)rotated east/west

None of these configurations yielded more than 7 out of about 30 channels. Just as a control, I grabbed the rabbit ears of my kid’s Disney Princess TV and got 23 channels. I HATE THIS ANTENNA DO NOT BUY IT!

Just tried a couple of these as an indoor antenna (with snow, freezing temps and high winds, it wasn’t the best time to try setting it up outdoors!) for a new flat screen TV and for an older TV with a converter box. Even with the amplifier it wasn’t any better than “rabbit ears”. Using it on the first or second floor made no difference; with the rabbit ears I only got an ION station and that’s all I got with this unit. Stations I was hoping to get originate in Providence (about 30 miles north of me) and Boston (about 60 miles north). I suppose I could have kept it and tried mounting it outside when the weather improves, but decided if I’m going to do that I’d be better off following the AntennaWeb recommendations and put the work into mounting a “real” multi-element outdoor antenna.

I bought this few days ago for a friend and noticed that it was to pickup about 37 channels (near san bruno). Sadly we had to return it, as except for two or 3 channels, everything else was chinese, mexican and a bunch of boring channels. But it was so easy to set up and it was very quick in picking up all the channels.

The Philips sdv 2940 digital antenna array is a good all around UHF/Digital unit. Gain was not as sensitive as expected, but overall, the unit performed well.
