Buzzzzzes just like last years models. Looks good while off. Still need to get this thing dialed-in but after a basic setup using a calibration disc, the picture quality is decent. Blacks are ok. Nothing spectacular about this entry level 1080p set.

I want to say right off the bat that this review has nothing to do with the picture quality of the unit as I am unable to even set it up.
First of all, Amazon’s shipping estimates are deceiving. Amazon said that the estimated delivery date was yesterday, but that actually isn’t the day it will arrive to your house. It is actually the day it arrives at the local delivery company. If you’re lucky they will deliver it the next day. Not a huge deal but something to be cautious of if you have to make arrangements to be home.
The second problem has to do with Samsung’s bad quality control and customer service. We opened the box to find out that it was lacking the bracket necessary to mount the TV to the stand. When we called Samsung they told us it would take 10-12 business days to get the part to us and I was even told I might have to pay for it (again). The lady was also very rude and kept telling me that I purchased an “open box item” when I clearly did not and she kept assuring me I was wrong. I wonder if this is normally the way they treat their customers?
So now we have to put the TV back in the box and let it take up space for another 2 weeks while Samsung takes their time shipping us a little piece of plastic. Or, we could head to Best Buy and spend another $300 + tax on a new stand. Way to go Samsung.
Entry level product or not, you should not have to put up with this kind of stuff when spending over $1k on a single electronics item.

After about 6 months of searching I finally decided on this television. I was originally going to buy an LCD TV but in the end, the features and cost didn’t match up. Bottom line up front, the 2010 Samsung plasma screen (whether it’s the same as last year’s I can’t say) is great. A similar LCD was almost $900 more. As far as the buzzing goes, mine doesn’t buzz and I have it connected to a 10 year old Pioneer 5.1 receiver via optical cable. I personally believe that most of the buzzing is due to bad wiring or unshielded cable.
Samsung has made a super product and I always recomend this TV to my friends.
BTW, I am in the US Army and don’t work for Samsung or any other manufacturer.
