How do I add a user to SQL Server 2005 so they can connect over LAN?

September 18th, 2011 1 comment

How do I add my laptop to connect to my sql server on my desktop?

Both machines have the same version of SQL Server and they are already networked up for file sharing, RDP etc.

Do I need to edit anything within the network configuration in the configuration manager?

I have tried to search for my desktop pc name when trying to add a user but nothing comes up.

Thanks.

How do you turn off deleting e-mail from the server in Microsoft Outlook?

September 8th, 2011 1 comment

My boss wants me to be able to see all my e-mails on the server (even when I don’t have my laptop) by accessing the server from any remote comuter. In other words, even if I’ve already opened my e-mail client (and downloaded all of the e-mails), he wants me to set up Outlook to NOT delete any of them from the mail server.

How much would it cost to setup 10 desktop computers and 10 laptop computers to a server and network?

July 9th, 2011 3 comments

I need to have 10 Desktop and 10 Laptop computers all networked together and all hooked up to 1 server. Also (3) 24″ monitors need to be hooked up to each desktop computer. I would like to know what I need for this project and what it would cost to get it done. It is for a small business just starting out.

I have mobile users that are able to log into our server remotely. How can I get a laptop set up so that my mobile users are able to transfer files between the laptop and the server? Is it even possible?
