When trying to install printer driver using the CD for Vista that came with my new All-in-One printer, it stops installing part way through and says “HP Installer Option Plug-In has stopped working” and that the extended attributes are inconsistent. I have disabled anti-virus and also tried downloading directly from HP site, but nothing I do seems to work.

I hate that some rest areas or restaurants dont have where to charge a laptop. Does the size of laptop affect the car battery? How expensive are the car chargers?

I have a Compaq Presario C502 laptop, Dell Inspiron laptop, and a Asus netbook. Its always good to have access to a computer during an emergency.
The Compaq is mine, the other ones are my sisters. Mine is the bulkiest one. Netbooks are easier to carry.

I’m going away for my sophmore year in college in the fall and I’m planning on buying a laptop.

Here’s what I want/need it for:

-HAS TO BE windows based
-writing papers and doing school work
-downloading and playing music
-possibly playing movies (not required)-
-surfing the internet
-using instant messaging services
-checking e-mail
-all the very basic computer use stuff.

I don’t have a whole lot of money to spend, I’m hoping nothing more than $800/$900 at the VERY most. (hopefully under that much)

Any suggestions?

carrying a laptop these days looks like an obligation or compulsion to me ,,,,what are the reasons behind the sales of laptop outstripping the desktops ?

I recently bought a advent 5611 laptop but can’t connect it wirelessly through our router. We have another laptop which connects straight away. I can’t figure it out!
It says it wireless enabled so thats not the problem.
Am i missing something out?

I’d like to know if there is a way to power a printer and computer while outdoors say for the entire day. I don’t have access to any power outlet.

My question pretty much says it all. I’m a public school teacher going back for my masters through a 100% online program. I am about to sell my desktop and purchase a laptop. I want great reliability and speed for a price that is preferably under $1300. I know that’s a stretch but I want to know if anyone has any suggestions out there. Thanks.

I’m curious how to get laptop insurance after warranty is up with the company. Since you aren’t allowed to re-new it. I hear someone say they had insurance on their laptop through a different thing, but didn’t ask much detail how.
