How can I get printer driver for HP5600 to download to my HP Vista laptop?

May 18th, 2011 3 comments

When trying to install printer driver using the CD for Vista that came with my new All-in-One printer, it stops installing part way through and says “HP Installer Option Plug-In has stopped working” and that the extended attributes are inconsistent. I have disabled anti-virus and also tried downloading directly from HP site, but nothing I do seems to work.

What is the best and most affordable printer that I can buy to print quality color sticker labels?

May 18th, 2011 1 comment

I am starting a natural beauty product line and I would like to print my own labels. The labels will be the sticky kind to stick on to bottles and such. I am looking for a sturdy high quality printer, but I have only about 500 dollars at the most to spend on this. What would be my best bet?

Thanks!

How do I change the default printer on my computer?

May 18th, 2011 4 comments

I need to change the default printer on my (windows xp home) computer from the nonexistant fax machine to the printer that’s actually physically there. I don’t have admin privilages on this computer, but all the other accounts have the default printer as, well, the printer, so I know each account has it’s own settings, and I don’t think this will cause a problem.

The reason why I need to change the printer is because I’m printing online coupons from couponsurfer, and it doesn’t give me a chance to select the printer I want to print with, it just goes automatically to the default printer. If there’s another way to solve this problem, I’m willing to accept a workaround.

Ask if you need more details!

How to achieve wireless printing with printer not wireless capable?

May 17th, 2011 4 comments

I need to move my printer across the room from my computer (Epson CX5000). My dh told me I could set it up wirelessly even tho the printer is not wireless capable. He said there was some sort of USB plugin I could put in the printer to enable it to pick up the signal from our wireless Verizon router. I believe he doesn’t know what he’s talking about :) but just in case, is there a way I can make this happen? Thanks.
