Unit will not power on after being off for several hours. Works after unplugging and re-plugging in, but this is not a permanent fix. This is the second unit I’ve had, both had the same problem. The number one item in troubleshooting is the unplug/replug fix, so Toshiba knows about the problem. Next time I’ll get a Sony.

I ordered the BDX2700 wanting to link it with my REGZA tv. First, the REGZA link is not all that interesting. After about a week or two of owning this player, it began keeping my movies in the tray, not pushing them out all the way. This resulted in me having to open and close the tray to get the movie out, scratching my movies. I ordered to return the item and receive a replacement, wanting to stick with Toshiba. I received my replacement on Thursday, and to my surprise, the replacement machine would only play movies for up to 20 minutes then freeze and shut down. Very disappointing. I will be buying Sony, Samsung or LG this next go around…

I received the item damaged and I returned it. It was shipped in the manufacture’s box with no additional protection. It probably had something heavy on top of it during transportation and the unit’s metal box was bent. The unit was apparently working, but kind of slow with loading blu-ray disks. The wireless appeared to be a bit slow also with Netflix streaming. Not very interesting software interface.

The picture and Internet setup on this box is top-notch. Great picture, easy to use, great set of features for the price. If you have a Toshiba television, the Regza-link feature works very nicely. My kids use the Netflix streaming, and I enjoy Pandora and the Vudu applications. Interestingly, there is a Pandora “native” app, as well as a Vudu Pandora app. I have not been successful in getting the Vudu Pandora app to remember my Pandora login information, but the “native” application works well. Perhaps an SD storage card is needed for the Vudu app? A small inconvenience.
I was also having problems like a couple other reviewers where I could not power on the unit without unplugging it and plugging it in again.. For me, it was a heat issue, as I had originally installed the player over my DVR. Since I have moved the unit to the other side of my entertainment console where it is cooler, I have not had any issues with it. I would buy another one.

Frequently you have to unplug then replug to get the machine to turn on. When running it works fine.
