I ordered this item for the 18.4 inch screen because of my poor eyesight. Unfortunately this system apparent has only 2 possible video resolutions the its “native mode”, which makes characters much too small for me to read anything on the screen, and the 800 by 600 mode. So the wide screen is useless to me. Apparently J & R will not accept the return of a computer after setup has been run, so I’m stuck with it. It may be of some use as a second computer if it is compatible with my 30 inch monitor, but not as a laptop. It may be a good laptop at a good price, but check the specs carefully to know what you are ordering.

The machine has impressively HUGE screen, and the screen is impressively crisp and bright.
I hesitated because of cpu, but it turns out that the speed is quite enough for me since I don’t run any programs which ask for many things. I’m sure 90% of users will agree about the speed.
I’m trying to turn the machine into Linux or XP, I simply cannot bear with this win 7. It is premium version, so way better than basic. But win 7 is just another Vista in different disguise. Many of softwares won’t work and it took a while to find out that the problems are from OS.
Anyway, the machine itself is amazing. Now it became one of my family treasure.

This laptop is great. The screen is beautiful, the sound quality (in my very inexpert opinion) is very good and it has a convenient self-calibrating system. Others have complained about the touch buttons on the side which I agree are a little silly. The only one I use is the mute button and even it beeps very loudly (I’ve done a ton of searching for a way to turn them off and have found nothing). I’ve read complaints about the keyboard, but I think it’s just fine. I don’t use the touch pad mouse, so I have nothing to say there. It’s really heavy, but that’s why I call it a laptop replacement. I play Diablo 2, Warcraft 3 etc. and they work well although I have to run Diablo in windowed mode (right click on it-properties and add ” -w” to the end of the target). I only know a little about computers, but this was very easy to set up and personalize. If you can’t invest 1k+in a computer, this is the way to go.

All ports are on the sides, so wires & sticks are in your face. Display – a little too much reflection. Media player controls are in the way just to the left of the keyboard – frequently muting or starting inadvertently.

I AM NOT A COMOUTER PRO. BUT THIS COMPUTER IS A VERY GOOD BUY CONSIDERING THE PRICE AND THE BIG SCREEN. YOU WON’T GO WRONG WITH IT.
