This DVD player works well as a DVD player but is very poor when it comes to connecting to a wireless router especially if you intend to take advantage of the Netflix or Pandora feature. The problem is that it can only connect to WEP secured devices and not to WPA routers. As you may know, WEP security is very old and easy to hack. So if you’re going to physically connect it to your internet, or if you have an unsecured server you are fine, otherwise look elsewhere.

I purchased this unit about 2 months ago. The Netflix and other internet based options work great. However, while watching my second blue ray disc, the player froze up and won’t play, fast forward or even eject my disc. I took it back to Walmart, where they exchanged it for another Vizio player (same model). I was playing the first movie on it and the unit, once again froze. I was able to eject the movie this time, put it in another player from other room, and it played fine. I took the unit back and Walmart replaced it with store credit. I used the credit to purchase an LG player. No problems. I should have just stuck with LG as my other player is the LG brand and works great. I thought I’d give Vizio a try. Big Mistake!!

My wife bought me Vizio blu ray player for my birthday. It was a easy hook up as it was easy to hook it up to my wifi as well.

We played one movie. Following day I attempted to power up player… no luck no power was going to the system. I tried unplugging and replugging it back up. I changed the batteries on the remote, I tried physically using the power button on the player to turn on the power. Nothing was happening. Plus I just remembered I left my movie in the player.

I called customer service they had me do the same steps I did already. They mentioned getting a new one from them but I had to cover shipping cost. NO WAY!!!! I returned the product to the store where I purchased it. They dismantled the player so I can get my movie back.

I was very pleased with the store. I bought another blu ray player but this time I got a Sony. They are the makers of blu ray.

I bought this player for the simple fact that I wanted all vizio in my room with my new LED Vizio and be able to stream netflix through the player wireless. Well I bought the player hooked it up and nothing works at all the player wont even cut on. So I took it back and returned it for the exact same model got home hooked it up and that one wont cut on at all. When I returned to store there was another individual in there having same problems with the slimmer vizio blu ray player. So I feel that vizio has some work to do with there Blu ray players. Hopefully the next one I get works and I can write another review.

I completely agree with the other reviewers although I felt their ratings were a bit high. I bought this unit to pair with my Vizio HDTV. Big mistake! It has the worst remote control of any BD-DVD player I have seen. It has only one TV function (volume) and the buttons are so stiff that my wife can barely depress them. The network update function is inoperative. The unit has only a quick start user guide with VERY limited tech data and no packing slip that tells you what is supposed to be in the box. I downloaded a PDF user guide from the Vizio website and it was unusable. As previously noted, it does NOT contain the advertised HDMI cable. It is going back to Amazon as quickly as I can pack it up and give it to UPS.
