The digital picture size of each file is a little over 1.0 Mb.

How did they come up with the 5Mp?

The slide converter is is easy to use, handy but the quality of the digital images is not the best. Still perhaps worth the buck for the bang.

    Much better than I thought.

Very easy to use and the picture quality was very good.

Received this as a gift yesterday. It’s very simple to use and I was excited to see my first slides scanned. Plugged it in and it didn’t work. It said it was working, but no picture showed in the viewer. Decided to call Technical Support and low and behold they are only available M-F from 9-5 PST — not good, most people are working during those hours. Anyway, managed to call today and the tech told me I had a defective unit and to return it and they would send either fix it (I don’t think so) or replace it. So I am taking it back to CostCo, getting my money back, and getting another one. I did like the process and what it was supposed to do. I’ll write back when I get my new unit.

like many other reviewers, I found this unit simple and cheap, but that it produces very poor quality scans. there is no control over exposure and contrast in the scans and as a result, most end up over-exposed and washed out.
